Retirement Plan

I am going to use this blog for something else.

I'll be taking down the football posts.

You may find links in the sidebar useful. Especially the food links.

There were some good ideas there.

Good luck with the football season.

See you in the funny papers.

The Waiting Room

Big week in the waiting room.

You know phones are ringing in NFL Offices. Feverish preparations for Free Agency.

And Draft Stock rising and falling per the make or break NFL Combine Sessions.

Shemar Stewart used to be a possibility for the Commanders in the Draft. He's threatening the Top Ten now. Teams are smitten with his RAS of 10

The Myles Garrett situation looks unsolvable. You kind of want the Commanders to keep their picks. Maybe get more. If they get Myles, pray it doesn't break the grocery shopping. I'd lean toward trading up for Shemar over trading for Garrett.

It is still roughly a good atmosphere for the Commanders and the NFL in general. I expect the Commanders to flourish in a way typical for Adam Peters and Dan Quinn.

It is going to be exciting to see where guys end up.

It doesn't make sense to do another Draft Mock until Free Agent News breaks.

But these are the guys I'll be following this week:

Ed

Rico

Pedro

Peace be unto you.

Mocking the Best Remaining: Raising the Titanic

Last night turned into an opportunity of a lifetime for Kliff Kingsbury as the Commanders picked Jayden Daniels, phenom QB out of LSU, with the Number Two Overall Pick.

I think most people will tell you Daniels and Kingsbury are made for each other at least on paper. There's work to do. What Kingsbury cooks up is must-see TV.

Protecting Number 5 is crucial. Pro Football Network still has their simulator running updated with last nights picks. Here's what I did with what remains of the 2024 Draft:

LaDarius Henderson played Left Tackle for Michigan I believe though PFN has him at Guard. Nehemiah Pritchett is a big corner with training wheels needed.

Then I would hop on Anim Dankwah and Frank Crum in UDFA.

The Free Agency Waiting Room

A lot of guys looking at a change of venue in the "League" this week. Might be a good time for some mood music.

Here's one from The Little River Band.

Wilson Pickett did a rendition of Hey Jude with Duane Allman that was just mind-blowing. Certainly enough to inspire guys to the Super Bowl.

Is it enough to help the transition from thirty years of nothingness to a year of somethingness? I don't know.

I guess like Brandon Victor Dixon, Commanders fans have a little heaven on their minds.

The Horizontal Build: How Washington Reconstructed Its Roster Through a Trade‑Down Draft
