Let me ask you this.
What if Brian Mitchell, greatest return man in the history of the human race, actually had won the notorious Body Bag Game in 1990?
Would that have accelerated the NFL's evolution into the mobility era, the era of the point guard quarterback? Would Joe Jackson Gibbs have contemplated STARTING Brian Mitchell at QB? Or at least using him in a slash format?
Slash meaning "we don't want you as a full-time quarterback . . . yet."
This was before Kordell Stewart, arguably the starting point of the Mahomes Effect. Kordell's 2001 Season probably went a long way toward breaking ground for Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Deshaun Watson, RGIII et al.
