The Professor Says Commanders Cover Cardinals Win

The Washington Commanders, after beating the Cincinnati Bengals Monday Night, are in Arizona this weekend versus the Cardinals.

The Cardinals are 3.5 point favorites. The over under is 49.5 points. Sharp Money and the Public favor the Cardinals. Probably based on their annihilation of the Rams. They are coached by ex-Eagle defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon.

Gannon was 3-1 against the Commanders as D-Coordinator in Philly. As Rookie Head Coach, he lost last year's opener against the Commanders in a gritty contest. Commanders assistant Brian Johnson coached at Philly during Gannon's gig as DC.

As Head Coach of the Falcons, Dan Quinn was 2-1 against Arizona. Quinn faced Arizona a couple times as Dallas Defensive Coordinator. On January 2, 2022 Kliff Kingsbury's Cardinals defeated the Dallas Cowboys 25-22

On September 24, 2023, the Cardinals once again vanguished Quinn after rolling up over 200 yards rushing in a shocking 28-16 result. Quinn explained.

Familiarity is a factor in the contest. Kyler Murray faces his former Head Coach. Brian Johnson will see some defense ideas he saw from Gannon in Philly.

The Cardinals beat Johnson's Eagles last year on New Year's Eve.

Commanders lead the all time series 78-47-2.

Second straight week of Public and Sharps agreeing on the Commanders losing.

The Coaching Chess match is pretty even. A tight contest seems fated.

Commanders cover. I'll take the over. Cardinals win 31-30 in another crowd-pleasing extravaganza.
