Draft Mockery Episode 6: Agents Matter

I am not enamored of what I'm hearing Jayden Daniels' Agent has been twitting. Some people say it doesn't matter.

It does matter if Daniels hired the guy. It goes to judgment. There's been smoke around Jayden and whether he wants to come to Washington or not for a while now. I don't like that. I don't think a new regime needs the prima donna act this is looking like.

And I think it is taking a toll on Daniels' position in the Draft. At least the Simulator has him dropping to the Vikings at Number 11. He's only moments away from the Raiders at 13. I'd say have his Agent keep mouthing off and he'll be in a Raiders jersey on draft day. Costing the Raiders nothing.

If Washington takes him anyway I can promise you it will be a "THING" in D.C. We're used to "things" in Washington. I just thought this was going to be different. Maybe not.

It looks like it will be a thing with pretty much everybody but the Raiders.

People say don't you think we'd be missing out on a "generational" talent? If this is what it looks like, and I'm not saying it is necessarily, we're not going to miss out on much. In terms of wins and losses? Not much.

I mean, if the guy doesn't want to be here, and you draft him, and you expect me to believe he will perform his best for you, you've got a screw loose somewhere. I'd rather not bother if I can win as much if not more with the other QBs.

So this mock Jayden ends up in Minnesota. I have the Commanders taking Drake Maye at 2, Kingsley Suamataia at 36, Christian Haynes at 40, Chris Braswell at 67, Devontez Walker at 78, Austin Booker at 100, Matt Goncalves at 150, Elijah Jones at 152, Nehemiah Pritchett at 198, and one of the most prolific passers in college football history, QB Sam Hartman, at 241.

We had a Notre Dame QB take us to the Chip in 1983. Figure maybe Sam Hartman might do it again.

Or at least be the Commander Version of Brock Purdy.
