The NFL does body shaming like nobody's business.
That's what they are up to with Bryce Young. I'm not sure why. He's too short. He's too light. He's 3 foot 11 and 34 pounds. At least he's got leverage.
I don't imagine Bryce Young doing dive plays much. He got the ball to his receivers. He doesn't seem allergic to the pocket. He can get to green grass. He has brains.
How's he going to stay healthy in an RPO era?
It is all in how a coach plays him.
I went on the NET recently and saw a documentary on Joey T. When Joe Theismann was at Notre Dame he was rail thin. He looked like a matchstick cartoon. It was alarming. How did he come out alive? He certainly didn't seem like a Pro Ball Player.
But he was. He won a Super Bowl. He was six foot tall.
Russell Wilson was five foot one. Won a Super Bowl. Drew Brees was four foot one. Won a Super Bowl. Eddie LeBaron was right at ground zero. Went to the Pro Bowl four times.
What? You want me to be serious about ridiculous logic?
Spud Webb was a towering 5 foot 7 inches tall. Spud Webb won the Slam Dunk Championship.
Bryce Young is the most prepared to play Pro Ball of the QB prospects in the Draft. If the tragically stupid NFL rumor mill degrades Young's draft status to level 16, then the Washington Commanders should select him.
But let's hope sobriety returns to the League before that happens.
