Our team in Washington did not make the playoffs. I thought a little nostalgia therapy might tide us over to Free Agency and the Draft.
Things I had forgotten about this Super Bowl:
Theismann threw a few picks.
Riggins fumbled the football.
Riggins rushed for more yards in the playoffs than in the regular season.
Dick Enberg and Merlin Olsen were the most polite commentators ever.
At the end, Coach Gibbs got a call from President Reagan.
The NFL has a few full Super Bowls on its YouTube channel but relegates this Super Bowl to recap status. That should be remedied. The Football Gods were involved in that Riggins Run. It's a play that flashes in your mind when you think of good old fashioned football.
